How to add, edit and archive Areas

Modified on Tue, 18 Aug at 2:19 PM

Build the list of physical spaces at your site, keep them up to date, and archive the ones you no longer use.

Why do I need to do this?

Areas are where your equipment lives and where your tasks happen. Little else in Food Safety works until they exist.

Before you start

  • You need create and edit access to Facility Management.
  • List your spaces before you start.

Start here

Go to Admin, then Facility Management, then Food Safety Setup, then Areas.

Add an area

  1. Select Add New Area.
  2. Enter the Area Name and choose an Area Type. Both are required. Add a description or image if you like.
  3. Select Save.

Edit an area

  1. Select the actions icon on the area's row, then Edit
  2. Change what you need, then select Update.

Only changing active or inactive? Select the status badge in the row instead. It saves straight away.

Archive an area

  1. Select the actions icon, then Archive.
  2. Enter a reason. This is required.
  3. Select Yes.

This affects your equipment too. Archiving an area also archives every piece of equipment linked to it.

You're done

Your areas list now matches your site. To see or restore archived areas, switch on View Archived in the toolbar.

Next steps

  • Add, edit and archive equipment
  • Add, edit and archive roles
  • Understanding Task Builder and creating a task lis
