Our Catering Module follows the IDDSI Framework to classify and describe food textures and drink thickness.

The IDDSI Framework Colour Codes are used throughout our Catering module, including in Orders, Labels and Reports.

Please note, regardless of the food and fluid texture chosen for a Resident, and the texture classification on a recipe, it is important that IDDSI testing is done on foods and drinks at the site level, under actual serving conditions (especially temperature), prior to meal service.

SoupedUp enables texture blocking within the software based on Food Texture – Protein and Food Texture – Other.

This texture blocking will occur based off the Food Texture – Other, unless the protein texture blocking has been selected in recipes. This has been developed in consultation with IDDSI guidelines, as well as Plena Healthcare Speech Pathologists.

Within SoupedUp Recipes, you can clone and elect for the texture blocking to occur based on the protein texture rather than the other texture.
